J is for January, a free chart

Cleaning and re-organizing my little design studio at the start of the New Year, I came across lots of stuff as well as several older patterns of mine. This little snowman was one of them! Enjoy.

I love the snow! My boys love a good snowstorm too. I'm not fond of the ice - who is? But the snow for packing snowmen means winter to me. Not everyone is a fan of snow, I know, but being a January baby makes me adore it all the more, I guess. The week I was born in 1970, a friend of my Mom's brought her a snowball at the hospital! My grandparents had to walk through the snow to get to the hospital to see me for the first time because the roads were impassable. I love hearing my grandmother tell that story every January :)

We had our first few flakes cascaded from the sky just this week; made for a pretty scene even if it didn't stick. Hope Jack Frost has more to send our way soon -- just enough to build a snowman, close school for a day or so, but keep us toasty warm when we head indoors for hot cocoa.

“Is it snowing where you are?
All the world that I see from my tower is draped in white
and the flakes are coming down as big as pop-corns.
It's late afternoon - the sun is just setting (a cold yellow colour)
behind some colder violet hills, and I am up in my window seat
using the last light to write to you.”
-Jean Wesbter (1876 - 1916)

Thank you for the snowman chart, it is lovely.
No snow here, I do like to see it but not in the quantity we had last winter, especially difficult when our boiler outlet froze.
I was born in winter and find I like this time of year. Already snowdrops are poking through the earth, hellebores have buds and Spring is just round the corner.

Thank you for the sweet snowman! It is not snowing here in Wisconsin presently. We have just a small amount on the ground right now. No snowmen yet. Or sledding. :(

Thank you Tanya !!! We don't have snow very much in Alabama. If it does snow it is an icy snow! This little guy will be nice to stitch and put be my stitching chair. Hope you get your snow soon for your snowman!! I also loved that your grandparents had to walk to see you in the hospital in 1970! lol

Tanya, thank you for the sweet snowman chart! Fortunately we don't have any snow yet and after last winter I am fine with that. If it would hold off until right before the warm weather returns, we could have a storm; otherwise I'll take a no-snow winter after the year we just had in CT!

Hi Tanya, thank you for the snowman chart. It snowed for a little while here yesterday afternoon. We really haven't had any since the October 29th storm.

First, love your blog! My son was born January 15, 1970. We lived in Michigan and it snowed huge while I was in the hospital (that was when you stayed 4-5 days). It was below 0 outside the day I took John home. My husband picked us up and of course, the car was super warm. We got home to our little apartment and my Mom called. I went to the phone and the phone was warm....my husband had the apartment so hot for baby John. First time Dads can be crazy! Enjoy your winter birthday! John always does.
