What a memorable morning! I was up shortly after 3AM and luckily had everything set out last night for our early viewing party. Ben woke at 5 and Zack at usual time. They wore the shirts I made for them! (Ben had complete input on his as you can see.)
My Mom came by and my dear friend, Nancy (who brought me another souvenir mug, 2 crown bracelet beads, 2 KATE magazines, and 2 beautiful pendants made from Scrabble tiles. Awesome!!), and we watched BBC America's coverage of the Royal Wedding. Prince William was dashing in his uniform and his bride, Kate, was stunning in her dress. It was a lovely wedding and brought back so many memories of Princess Diana's wedding - a favorite childhood memory of mine when I was 11 years old. I think she would be proud of her boys and I truly hope Will and Kate have the happiest life together. It was a beautiful moment when she took William's hand as they went under the arch where Diana's casket had gone.
History is both sad and beautiful. That is history. We learn from it and we live it every day. As a girl, there's just something about a prince and a princess. I'll never forget today and all it's joy that made me smile and cry. Here's to the happy couple! Love is a beautiful thing.

I love all your Royal souvenirs! So cool! I got up at 5am since I'm on the east coast. I so loved watching the royal wedding!
I love your Wedding party it is enough to rival any of the street parites held in the UK for the occassion. The wedding was beautful and I felt it showed them off as a young couple. The simpler and understated elegance of Catherine was wonderful to see and her dress just out of this world. Every girl wants a prince and she's got herself a dashing one. Wishing them many years of happiness together. What a beautiful future King and Queen they shall make.
In Germany we also had a very nice Royal Wedding party from 9:00a.m. to 15:00p.m. . It was fantastic. The breakfast table was full of the best things I could find. All family members were at home (holidays) and also my oldest girls mother-in-law, who is a close friend of mine since years.
We had wonderful hours watching the wedding and we feel happy and very romantic now. It is a fantastic, never forgetting day.

What a great way to commemorate. I will be looking unfortunately at the replays after work tonight....but I was so excited for them and thought at 6 am when I got up for work, how they were probably exchanging vows. She was a beautiful bride!

What a beautiful Wedding Breakfast...rivals the real one I'm sure. What a variety of lovely souvenirs. Made it from 4:30am to about 8:15am, then promptly fell asleep on the couch and missed The Kiss!
That's a great bunch of souvenirs you have. I loved every minute of the Royal wedding and even my DH stayed up and watched with me.

It was a beautiful day for William and Kate. I do remember watching Diana and Charles' wedding also.
Such a fairytale moment today.. You have to give the British full credit for doing these things up right with all the pomp, and ceremony!
WOW Love your display and the food looks scrumptious ! On the west coast coverage started at 1:00 a.m. with guests arriving so I stayed up all night watching. It was amazing how they had everything scheduled right to the second. I will probably watch the repeats tonight with my Mom.

I watched the wedding this morning too Tanya. Wasn't it absolutely gorgeous and so sentimental? I couldn't help but get teary eyed. I think Kate Middleton is such an elegant lady. Your party looks like so much fun!
I woke up this morning at 2 am, watched the wedding, then went to work at 7:30 Some say I'm crazy but I wouldn't have done it differently. I smiled all day :)

I didn't get to watch it in real time, but I've seen enough clips to know it was lovely. And a friend taped the BBC coverage for me--several of us are getting together NEXT weekend for our own 'wedding watch' party!
But I don't think we'll have nearly the decorations you do!

Well said, too, your thoughts on history - I know the media coverage was over-the-top, but I did get upset when people discounted those of us who really cared aboutthis wedding as being silly!
My house didn't look like yours ( which was really beautiful!), but I enjoyed it just the same!
We watched it real time; there was only a one hour time-difference between Britain and the Netherlands, where I live.
So nice to see that this wedding was seen and admired all over the world!
And yes, I also thought about Diana a lot during the ceremony; she would have been so proud of her son, I guess.
Where did they ever find the KATE mags? I've got to get me some!
