Roast chicken in the oven with sweet onion, rosemary & thyme ... the aroma is intoxicating. I had a hankering for sweet potatoes so that will be yummy side dish topped with marshmallows. My oldest is Mr. Picky Eater so he's suffering through his homework smelling it. Wait till he finds out he has to eat what's on his plate tonight. The little one eats just about anything but follows the big brother's lead more these days, lovely. School and preschool in full swing now as October approaches later this week. September has nearly flown by with the leaves.
This afternoon I put a few Halloween displays around the house. Here are two of them ~ fun! (Nancy D. ~ thank you again for the pumpkin box!!)
My Facebook page is growing every day ~ lots of wonderful fans from around the globe there, closing in on 800! If you're on Facebook and want to join The Sampler Girl page, click here. I post design updates and such. Keeps ya connected!
New pattern releasing tomorrow ... Clara's Worke 1891. Till then!

I love the Halloween display. Your dinner sounds really good. Enjoy!
Nice Halloween displays Tanya, and the pumpkin box is too fun!
We had chicken for dinner tonight too, with asparagus and rice, but Kevin cooked the chicken on the grill. Oh I love sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows!
Sounded so good I had to roast some chicken; added asparagus and mashed potatoes--great comfort food.
very very good !

What great Halloween displays! That pumpkin box is adorable. Love your new release, too!
I am laughing about the boys suffering through the smells as your dinner cooks. I LOVE roasted chicken (I do rosemary & thyme, but roll a lemon under my hand on the counter and then prick it with a fork, and stick it inside the chicken as it cooks--gives it a nice taste) as does my DH, but my kids hate it. None of them like every meal that I make, except for DH. DH & I were talking about that... about how we didn't get a choice to eat something different when we were growing up, we just ate what was put on our plate. It can be frustrating!
Mmmmm I can smell it from here!
Look forward to seeing the new design. Michelle x
Siobhan,
I didn't have any lemons otherwise I usually cut one in half and shove it int he cavity of the chicken, per my favorite recipe for roast chicken by Ina Garten :)
Tanya, whose son Ben is thrilled it was a little chicken last night so all gone, no leftovers for him to suffer through tonight!
