I've always loved the colonial-look. In the first years of our marriage, we'd take a long week-end around paydays and visit Colonial Williamsburg. It's been several years since our last stay there and I think it's getting time to just get in the car and just go. You can just imagine the young girls doing their samplermaking in such houses as in the historic area and the gardens flow with such color and beauty that the heart dances sweetly upon seeing such grace.
My next design includes some flowers which look colonial to me ... here's a sneak peek.

I've only been through Colonial Williamsburg once and we didn't really have the time to do all the sight seeing I wanted to but it certainly would be heaven! I remember the colonial houses and the beautiful colors.
One day I want to go back there and take more time. Yes, I can imagine sampler making there!!!

I love Colonial Williamsburg and think it is about time we return. We have never been without the boys (when they were small) so I would love to really do some deep home tours and history hunting!

Love the picture of the Colonial garden and the sneak peek! I love gardens and flowers but don't have a green thumb at all. Heck, I can't even get my African violet to bloom, but at least, I haven't killed it yet. I always tended to overwater plants.
