I double checked the calendar and yes, it's Friday. Feels more like a Monday but the calendar told me so. This morning it was overcast and I knew it was going to rain, not monsoon, just rain at some point but they said later. I know they said later. So the chickadees and I went out for donuts as a late breakfast and in the time it took Zack to eat his donut, part of my croissant sandwich, most of my hash rounds while carrying on a deep conversation with his brother (who wasn't paying attention) and his mother (who was contemplating buying more food since hers was being taken), the scarce sunlight behind the clouds had disappeared. We were back in the car just maybe two minutes when the sky opened. I always think there has to be another turbo wiper setting but it was pumped to the max as we headed for the post office. By the time we got there, it was beyond bad. The visibility...well, there was none. We parked and watched the rain cascade down the windows which was hypnotic. When the downpour eased a goodly amount, Ben was a dear and ran in to get the mail from my box. By the time he came back to the car, the sun was out again and the view outside was that look the earth appears after a hard rain. Next stop, the bank. Sounds simple but nothing is simple on a Monday, I mean this Friday.
We passed streets that were dry as a bone and clearly had raced the storm out of town, or so we thought. Turns out that Friday, close to noon now, was the ideal time for ATM maintenance. Doesn't that make sense? So, it was on to another branch where their ATM was being worked on as well so on to the drivethru which I had been wanting to avoid because of the lines but hey, it's only time and the kids in the car wanted to be in line, why not! When it was my turn, the guy asked how I was so I told him. Why on earth is Friday the day for ATM maintenance??? Sorry, ma'am, but there is an ATM around the corner. Like I'm blind - yes, I know BUT I wanted a drivethru ATM to be working - see the children in the backseat, one has taken his shoes off and the other has cranked up the volume on that gameboy which I know has given me a nervous eye twitch, and the RAIN is coming down once again??? Sorry, ma'am.
I had planned to take the boys to the library but we opted to head back home. More rain followed us and the monsoon, second of the day, came our way. Back home to find our yard bags down the street in a big puddle chatting with other neighbors' yard bags. So to continue the Monday mood around here, I cleaned house and now ready for the week-end to visit. I hope it's a good one.
Here's a glimpse of another upcoming pattern...I was tinkering with the blurry effect on the camera which is highly addicting. Enjoy your week-end!

It's cloudy and windy here now so I think we'll have your monsoon this evening. Hope your weekend goes smooth Tanya.
I'm glad someoneelse thought it has felt like a monday too. I have had to keep reminding myself all day that it has been friday.
My day started out rainy and gloomy as well. Its so hard to get up so early on these kinds of days but the sun came out and clouds cleared by sunset and made a beautiful one behind the mountains.
I can't wait to see this design. You know I love the blue colors, the Williamsburgy blue ones.
Hope your evening went better!

Yep,when it rains, it pours! One of those Murphy's law days. Love reading your blog, it's such fun. If you get any more of that rain, please send it down to Florida. It's been so muggy and hot.
