samplermaking 101

This afternoon I taught 12 girl scouts to cross stitch as they earned a Try It Sewing badge. There were 2 girls who already knew how to stitch so that was great ~ the troop also did a crash course in finger knitting which looked fun. I wrote a little bit about my part here. Thank you, Jennifer, for asking me to do it!

Thank you for the comments on my first punchneedle piece. I love looking at the bunny ~ he makes me smile. My hand is doing better!!! I gather you do use different muscles for the punching so that makes sense. I'm not giving it up just yet.

Chicken Parm for dinner. Best get to it!

I'm glad the sewing lesson went well with the girls. You gave them such a sweet piece to stitch.

I love your bunny punch needle! I like how yours looks fluffy. It's a very pretty design. Do you keep him displayed in the wooden bowl?

What a sweet cross stitch you had them make! I'm sure they will always treasure it!

Your little bunny is just precious!! Punch needle is something I haven't tried yet, even though I have some kits. Maybe that will be my next project!

Have a great day!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I can never forget a 10-year old girl taught me to knit a couple of years ago! What a sense of accomplishment for you and for them!

What a sweet thing to do, Tanya! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Now if you could only get Ben and Zack to stitch. LOL

Such a great idea! My gd, Sydney wants to stitch but I don't know how to start her, maybe when she is older.

Always love visiting your blog and seeing your samplers.

How cool to teach young girls to stitch. You never know which ones will decide to make this a lifelong habit!

That sounds like great fun teaching the girls to stitch. I remember when I was a child, my mom always done hooby crafty items and so it stuck with me into my adulthood. So many children don't have that though so it is great when someone else can teach them!
